WNYU debate on the commercialisation of Hardcore from the early 90’s. On one side SOIA who had just joined a big label and the other the DIY purists Born Against. I suppose this debate is still relevant today with what kids would considering selling out and yadda yadda. Still it’s a very interesting listen with two bands arguing from the same scene, although I’ve always viewed BA as being outsiders of NYHC - with members being part of Life’s Blood (Never Make a Change anyone? haha) etc. Anyway I think Sam from BA was asked years later who won the debate, he said something about BA being broken up well SOIA were still going.
